The Assemble New Sprouts project is a 5680 square meter sport center located in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. It serves as an integral part of the NTHU Innovative Incubation Center, offering technological services, information support, business support, and administrative support to small and medium enterprises. The design team, consisting of Moek Mo, Yong Liu, Fred Ho, James Kuo, and Eric Tsai, worked diligently to create a space that would enhance the efficiency and functionality of the center.
One of the main challenges faced during the design process was the need to clearly demarcate the flow of different spaces within the building. To address this, the designers created spaces with different functions on different layers and areas, allowing users to maximize their space usage efficiency. Multi-functional spaces, a reception area, conference rooms, and other areas were carefully designed, with simple signs serving as flow indicators.
Material utilization was another key consideration in the design. The designers boldly used colors and different materials to create a visually striking environment that balances both functionality and aesthetics. By incorporating color flashes and organic functions, the Assemble New Sprouts project achieves a harmonious blend of form and purpose.
The completion of the Assemble New Sprouts project in April 2016 marked a significant milestone for the NTHU Innovative Incubation Center. The center now offers a state-of-the-art sport facility that not only promotes physical well-being but also fosters innovation and collaboration among its users. The design has been recognized for its excellence and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This prestigious accolade celebrates designs that showcase technical and creative skills while contributing to improvements in quality of life.
The Assemble New Sprouts project by Mo Architects and Planners exemplifies the power of design to create spaces that go beyond mere functionality. By prioritizing practical aesthetics and incorporating innovative solutions, this sport center sets a new standard for interior design in the context of lifestyle and innovation.
